NSIC registration is granted by the National Small Industries Corporation after its own process and inspection. GRO-MSME provides application support and cannot guarantee registration or tender awards.
What Is NSIC Registration?
NSIC registration means registration under the Single Point Registration Scheme (SPRS) of the National Small Industries Corporation, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of MSME. It is open to micro and small enterprises with Udyam Registration. After a capacity inspection, NSIC issues a certificate for the items the unit can supply. Registered units get tender sets free of cost, exemption from earnest money deposit, and can supply up to 25% of a requirement if they quote within 15% of the lowest price and match it. The certificate is valid for two years and is then renewed.
What Are the Benefits of NSIC Registration?
Tender sets free of cost
Registered units receive tender documents without paying tender fees.
Exemption from earnest money deposit
No EMD for the items covered by the certificate, which frees cash when bidding.
Purchase preference
MSEs quoting within the L1+15% band can supply up to 25% of the requirement by matching the lowest price.
A share of government purchases
Central ministries and PSUs aim to buy at least 25% of their requirements from MSEs, with 4% from SC/ST-owned and 3% from women-owned units.
Benefits apply subject to each tender’s terms and the items listed on your certificate.
Do You Need NSIC If You Already Have Udyam?
Not always. Udyam Registration is accepted for MSE benefits in much of central procurement. NSIC adds value where a buyer asks for it or wants an inspected capacity.
